The best route to long-term oral health starts in childhood. Our practice has extensive experience with children's dental care. Our primary focus is on early intervention (preventing problems with your child's teeth before they happen). Appointments do not take very long, and children actually have fun with it. We recommend making your child's first dental appointment before the age of 1. This appointment will include a dental exam, fluoride application (if teeth are present), recommendations on preventing cavities, an explanation of infant oral hygiene, nutritional counseling, and advice on handling teething. The most important thing about the first appointments for your children is that they be positive, happy, and good memories for your child, so they have a trusting relationship with their dental care providers!
