Dr. Shy C. Ni, DMD, DMSc
Dr. Shy C. Ni earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2010 from the University of California, Merced, where she was recognized for her dedication to learning and made it onto the dean's and chancellor's honors list. She decided to pursue a career in dentistry and obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the A.T. Still University - Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health in 2019.
Upon the successful completion of her DMD degree, Dr. Ni's exceptional achievements and dedication earned her membership in the esteemed Omicron Kappa Upsilon, National Honor Society. In addition, she was honored with a dental student award by the American Academy of Periodontology, a testament to her outstanding performance.
Driven by a desire for specialization, Dr. Ni chose to further advance her expertise in Periodontology. She completed her specialty training in this field and also earned a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree from the prestigious Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2023. During her residency at Harvard, Dr. Ni actively contributed to the field of periodontology through her insightful research. She received recognition for her work, winning awards in both basic science and clinical impact categories at a national research forum competition organized by the American Academy of Periodontology.
Upon graduation, Dr. Ni was honored with the Dr. James H. Shaw Award for her leadership, research excellence, and outstanding clinical work. She has decided to stay in New England to serve the community she has grown fond of. She continued to expand her knowledge in periodontology by attending advanced master courses with renowned experts such as Dr. Pikos, Dr. Urban, and Dr. Zadeh. Her ongoing training, combined with growing clinical experience, has strengthened her expertise in bone and soft tissue regeneration across a wide spectrum of clinical cases.
